Like last year, the start line for Alvogen's Midnight Time Trial was in front of the capital’s stunning Harpa Concert Hall building down by the harbour. The road was virtually turned into a velodrome, as traffic was diverted to make way for the competition. A hundred of the fastest cyclists in the land took part in what turned out to be an exciting and tight competition that attracted a crowd of over five hundred spectators.
The winners in the triathlon category (32 KM) were Hakon Hrafn Sigurdsson and Hanka Kupfernagel. This is the second consecutive win for Hakon Hrafn in this category, since he also won it last year, and Hanka Kupfernagel travelled especially all the way from Germany to be able to compete. In the road cycling category the winners were Oskar Ómarsson and Maria Ogn Guðmundsdóttir.
Iceland is the home of Alvogen's sister company, Alvotech, which is building a new biotech plant in the center of Reykjavik.
