Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, affecting an estimated 5.3 million Americans. It is projected that Alzheimer's and other dementias will cost the United States $226 billion in 2015 and more than 15 million Americans provide unpaid care for individuals with this disease. Alvogen shares the Alzheimer's Association passion for accelerating the global progress of new treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's and other dementias.
The donation is a part of Alvogen effort to reach out to local communities under the umbrella of the Better Planet Charity Fund.
Alvogen recently launched the first generic patch for treatment of dementia of the Alzheimer's type in the United States.
