Our Bulgarian colleagues had been collecting plastic bottle caps over the past several months to raise awareness on the importance of recycling to preserve the environment and also to contribute to a great initiative, where each ton of caps collected and sold equals a wheelchair for a person in need, an electric appliance for a foster home, etc. On Saturday, Alvogen took part in the biggest plastic caps collection initiative aiming to collect 1 ton for the purchase of a neonatal incubator, which would be donated to a hospital in a small town in Bulgaria. The event attracted a lot of volunteers in the capital, where a total of 160 kilograms of caps were collected. The campaign continues in other cities throughout the country.
The other great cause the team in Bulgaria got involved in was a charity run, the proceeds from which would be used to organize a Christmas swimming tournament for children with disabilities. Eleven Alvogen employees took part in the 5K race. Everyone completed the race successfully and, most importantly, enjoyed getting some exercise in on a crisp Sunday morning. The event was also a great way to carry over the Super September spirit into October and keep the Alvogen team fit and healthy.
