On Volunteer Day on Nov 11th, thirty of our Alvogen colleagues in Korea participated by making the famous Korean pickled vegetable dish known as Gimjang or Kimchi and baking fresh bread. This delicious bread and Kimchi were then donated to a charity that supports children and neighbors in need. Our wholehearted thanks goes to all those who got involved in this initiative and our Korean friends are already looking forward for the next Volunteer Day!
This was soon followed by the “2016 Alvogen Year-end Flea Market”, which was held between 5-9 December. We greatly appreciate the effort and help put in by all the employees who proactively participated by donating their products, talents, and money. In particular we would like to thank our colleagues in the Gongju and Hangnam Plant who donated products for the market. Working together as a team, we were able to provide some help to people in need, which is why this event is so meaningful for us.
Total proceeds from the market sales and profits from the Better Planet Café, which is located inside the Korean office, will be donated to local charity. The rest of the donated products will also be given away to local good causes. Every colleague in the Korean office helped spread a little hope by participating in the 2016 Year-end Flea Market.
Taking the initiative to help those in need with small gestures like this is a truly rewarding experience. By acting as ONE, we can help make this planet a better place to live in and hopefully find opportunities to do even more next year!
