On Sunday, in a mobile canteen placed in the backyard of a school, our „Volunteer-Chefs” came with a lot of good will and energy to cook and serve lunch for poor children. The children are coming to school on weekends either to play sports (on Saturday) or to do their homework (on Sundays). They gather in the morning and after their activities under the supervision of the volunteers involved in this project, they receive a hot meal cooked right there by different people who join voluntarly in the programme. For most of the kids, this is the only meal they get on that day, unfortunately!
This motivated our colleagues from Romania to mobilize and dedicate their weekend to this cause. From the menu, to the shopping list, supply, preparing and cooking, serving and cleaning - the activity was led 100% by the employees. 70 serving meals were cooked in 3 hours and water and fruits were additionaly given. Also, one of our colleagues insisted to prepare a home-made dessert especially for this occasion, to be offered to the kids.
But the employees cooking on Sunday were not the only ones involved in this project as many other colleagues in the office supported the action by donating money neccessary to buy the ingredients for the meals and other supplies to be used in the canteen.
