Although the 11-year long and brutal civil war in Sierra Leone came to an end some years ago, it is still vital to address the needs of the vulnerable youth who continue to suffer from its consequences.

With the support of Alvogen's Better Planet Charity Fund, which is largely financed by Alvogen's employees and partners around the globe, every year 150 vulnerable teenagers receive one-year basic education and vocational training. In addition to the promotion of a culture of non-violence and sustainable development in war torn communities, these young people are given the possibility to earn a living and be proud members of their community for the first time in their lives.

Upon graduation, all students receive the necessary equipment to work in their chosen fields, as well as follow up support from Red Cross staff in Moyamba, Sierra Leone.
